Next Steps Toward Reopening Our Campus

UPDATED: July 28

July 28th

Dear The Way family,

CONTINUING TO WORSHIP ONLINE

With rising COVID cases in our county, we are going to remain in livestream mode for worship throughout August on Sunday mornings @ 10 am and rebroadcast at 6 pm on Sunday and Wednesday evenings.  We are growing our media team and are in need of additional pioneer servants to facilitate livestream and to continue testing our protocols in preparation for in-person worship.  If you desire to be placed on the rotation, click here.

On behalf of your pastoral team, I want to thank you for your remaining flexible and faithful to sharing the hope-filled life in Christ with others. Our ability to be the church is not determined by whether we have a campus open or not, but whether we have our hearts open to the work of the Holy Spirit within and through us. May we remain open!

Blessings,
Pastor Andy

Dear The Way family,

I wanted to update you briefly on our approach to reopening campus for mission and ministry. Our reopening approach will be one that remains FLEXIBLE to the ever-changing environment we find ourselves in and FAITHFUL to Jesus’ call to put others before ourselves. To that end, online ministry will continue to adapt and expand to further our reach and deepen our discipleship efforts.  This will also be a means for us to remain connected to those that are unable or it is unwise to join in person. In tandem to that, we are taking iterative steps to reopening the campus with a priority placed on recovery groups and outdoor means of mission and ministry as we further implement protocols to facilitate indoor mission and ministry including worship.

ENTERING PHASE 2: We have developed a tentative approach to reopening campus in phases aligning with the national guidelines for reopening the country. We are moving into Phase 2 of our approach this Sunday. The biggest changes you will see is that weather-permitting, it may be opportunistic for you to gather with neighbors outdoors to watch and worship together while respecting social distancing as we remain in online-only worship mode. In addition to this, our care ministry groups will pioneer resuming meeting on campus and we will facilitate some limited outdoor gatherings including our weekly MUST distribution of meals and prayer gatherings.

LOOKING AHEAD TO PHASE 3: We have tentatively set July 19th as a soft launch of in-person worship.  This will be limited seating and will also be live-streamed to our online community.  In the coming days we will be asking for pioneer servants to help us test our protocols and work out the kinks to ensure the best on-campus ministry gatherings possible as we continue to navigate this pandemic.

Blessings,
Pastor Andy
