ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Job Description The Way Woodstock Administrative Assistant’s primary role is to provide support for ministry staff and board leadership in the areas of record keeping, compliance, and administrative tasks as identified by Executive Director.  This person would also assist in the development and documentation for all church related policies and procedures.  This role requires strong organizational, communication, and financial management skills.

Job Classification: Paid, 5-10 Hour/Week, Stipend

Reporting to: Executive Director (XD)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Discipleship: Schedules time for personal study, prayer, reflection and service in order to develop and maintain a high level of personal spiritual growth in Christ.
  • Corporate Discipleship: Schedules time for furthering the discipleship of others.
  • Record keeping: Maintaining accurate church records, including membership details, attendance logs, and donation history.
  • Administrative tasks: Managing office supplies, handling mail, updating church communication channels as directed by XD.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to church policies, legal requirements, and insurance regulations.
  • Special Projects: Assist ministry team as directed by XD (including special projects)
  • Benefits and Insurance Support: Provide administrative support as directed by Board and XD in personnel benefits, property, and liability insurance.
  • Policies and Procedures: Assist XD in development and maintenance of church policies and training necessary.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Grant Writing: Identify, pursue, and maintain any Trust and/or Grant related activities that will help further the mission and vision of The Way Woodstock.
  • Communications: Provide editorial services for church communications as needed.
  • Provide additional assistance as identified and agreed upon with XD.

Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Godly character and a Christ-Centered life.
  • An understanding of relational ministry.
  • A clear calling to serve others and lead others to do the same in response to their faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Spiritual Gift of Administration preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Financial literacy and budgeting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer software and database management.
  • Understanding of church doctrine and values.
  • Grant writing experience preferred, but not necessary.
